Ruffled Wedding Cake

For 2013 this seems as if it is going to be the biggest trend in cakes. It makes the cake look so soft and romantic and is ideal if you are trying to incorporate ombre into your wedding theme.

Let there be Fireworks...

Nothing quite says celebration like fireworks. If they are done in a safe controlled environment- away from pets- fireworks can create an amazing atmosphere. Many firework companies now even have fireworks that are still lively and colourful but with minimal noise. Some of the most stunning wedding photographs I have seen this year involve them- just make sure your photographer has experience with this type of lighting.

Ceremonies under Trees

Wedding ceremonies that take place under a large tree truly make for breath taking photographs. It is the perfect location for a whimsical or summery wedding- just remember to offer your guests parasols. The tree can also be used as a metaphor which is very well explained by Anne Keeler Evans- "The root system of a healthy tree is as large and beautiful as the canopy. As you stand beneath the leafy spread, you stand on ground that is held together by an expansive root system that enriches and supports the earth. There is nothing that a marriage needs more than the same sort of grounding a tree has. We must plant the tree, and our marriages, in soil that will nourish and support it (and you). Carefully cultivated, and protected, those roots will flourish and provide nutrients for the tree to grow."

Wheat Decor

Wheat is a good option to use for a rustic or shabby chic wedding. It is perfect for a neutral colour palette and easy to mix and blend with other items or colours. Wheat does symbolise bounty and wealth which suits a wedding beautifully.

A Statement Necklace for the Bride

I will be the first to admit that I have never really been a fan of brides wearing necklaces but this new trend has definitely grown on me. The trick is to pair the statement necklace with the correct neckline and keep everything else simple- it also takes a certain type of personality to pull this off. I love the glamorous feel a statement necklace creates and the gorgeous photographs.

The "Naked" Wedding Cake

Forget about covering your cake in fondant, icing, glazes and chocolate gnashes- these "naked" wedding cakes look beautiful and just as appealing.
