Anything but Cake...

While there is no doubt in my mind that there are beautiful wedding cakes, lately brides and grooms seem bored of them. Traditional Cakes are now being replaced with whimsical and quirky pies, cupcakes, macaroons and cake pops. What a great way to save money and add a bit of personality to your wedding.

Pinwheel Wedding

Pinwheels- so bright, fun and original. They are perfect for outside or whimsical weddings, are cost-effective and can be used for just about anything.

Peonies

Yes that is right brides and grooms; lately the Peony is the most popular flower. It is obvious why- they are soft and romantic and with pink being the trendiest colour of the year this flower fits right in.

Felt Bouquets

As I am not the hugest fan of flowers, I personally love this trend of using felt flowers. They look gorgeous in photographs, are budget conscious and there are even options for the men's buttonholes!

Ladies Inspirational Brunch

Yesterday SA School of Weddings (go here or here for more information) hosted the Ladies Inspirational Brunch in order to raise money for their Wedding Wish Foundation. Each student was required to sell 10 tickets and host their own table. The theme of my table was "Vintage Rustic" which was perfect for a morning, outside function. My colour scheme was white and brown with slight hints of blue. I made my table cloth, thank you bags and knife and fork holders using hessian and white lace and saved a lot of money using items I found from my garden (such as tree stumps and drift wood) and creating my own lace covered candle holders. As well as hosting and setting my table, my "From Paris with Lace" Range was also modelled at the event and received huge amounts of interest. Lady Marmalaide (go here or here for more information) also sponsored 5 dresses for the fashion show and everyone fell in love with their beautiful wedding gowns.
